SEO Made Simple

Today we will continue to look at simple on page SEO strategies that will have a marked difference in your  Search Engine Ranking Positions (SERP). This stuff is so simple that anyone can do it, yet time and time again people do not do this and are wondering why their page or blog is on page 26 of Google. So let’s have a look at a couple more things that you can change on your website right now.

Inserting LinksOn Page SEO

Search Engines (When I say this I mean Google usually) love to see links on a web page, because after all, that is what the Web is, abig spider web of links going here, there, and everywhere. You should be linking using anchored text to other pages in your site, using keywords or keyphrases you want to be ranked for to. As an example, if I want to be ranked for Simple On Page SEO then I will make that the anchored text and link to an article on that subject (like I just did back there). You do not have to link just to your site, you can send an outbound link as well, although remember to choose wisely where you send your outgoing links to, as you do not want your traffic to purchase on someone elses site.

Keep the quality of the links relevant too, and make sure they are linked to what the anchored text suggests. Do not get into the habit of making false claims with your anchored text, as this is considered Black Hat and any traffic you do have that clicks there will not be coming back to your site in a hurry. Keep the number of links to a handful too, you don’t want 15 links in an article that has 500 words. Look at my work, that will give you a good clue.

Using Images For SEO Purposes

Images on a website or blog have several different purposes. They are mainly there for aesthetic appeal or used as a call to action, although you can use them for SEO purposes as well. If they are already on your web page, then it would be foolish of you not to do some tweaking to enhance your Search Engine rankings.

Depending on if you have a static site or a CMS (Blog) you can go in and assign attributes to the images on the site. Think keywords here, and if you’re not sure, what is your page or article about. Always keep it relevant and you will come out in front. Some sites have a lot of images, so get creative. Remember, it does not have to be what you consider to be a picture, any image is an image when you use this Search Engine Optimisation strategy.

SEO For Dummies

So there you have it, although it says SEO for Dummies, it is SEO for everyone. You have no excuse not to be doing any of the things I have shown you in the last two posts. It is easy, and more importantly, it is effective. These simple on page SEO technigues will make a lot of difference to your rankings, and it will not take as long as you think for the chages to be in your favour. Do it and find out for yourself, and let me know how you got on.
