Wordpress On Your iPhoneWordpress iPhone App

The Wordpress iPhone App is one that I installed and started using just a few days ago, and I have to say it really well created, and so simple to use. If you know me than you would understand that the Wordpress platform plays a big part of my life right now, and this can also mean being stuck behind a computer in my office. Well this iPhone App has created a lot more freedom for me to enjoy a mobile office.

Wordpress For iPhone Features

This app has many of the standard features of the latest Wordpress version, so if you are familiar with that, then this will be a breeze to operate. Please note though, that this app will only work with version 2.7 and higher. Some of the features include:

  • Being able to write a post
  • You can edit existing pages
  • Uploading images/photos is simple
  • Manage all comments

I have to admit that writing and editing a long article would be rather tedious on the small touch screen, although for small updates or comment management, it is completely acceptable.

There are a couple of things that are not so great features about the Wordpress iPhone App, although there are plans to fix these issues in a later release according to the official Wordpress iPhone website. The two things that seem to be the minor issues are:

  • Updated themes from the Dashboard will not automatically appear on your iPhone
  • Changes to categories from the Dashboard will also not appear on your iPhone

The fix to both of these issues is to remove the old theme/category from the Dashboard, and then reactivate the new theme or category. I’m sure that we can live with that.

All in all the Wordpress iPhone App is a great tool to have, and if you are a blogger or you Wordpress a lot, then this will really benefit you. Best of all this is a free iPhone Application, and we all enjoy that.
