Internet Access Challenges
It’s been a little quiet on this site lately, as I have taken to the road and am doing a tour of France to see a little more of the world. The initial intention was to spend the month of July on the road in our rented Motorhome, and working for an hour or two a day, thanks to what I just assumed would be a far superior 3G Internet and WIFI network to what I am accustomed to in my home country of Australia.
As an Australian Internet Marketer, we often have a whinge about the quality and range our of our Wireless connections, blowing off what we have as overpriced and under delivered from our nearly monopolised carrier (for 3G country wide), Telstra.
My tune has changed considerably these last four weeks, as I have struggled and paid a lot of money for a variety of different Internet Connections, each one causing me more grief and frustration than they were worth. In part, it is beginning to ruin my working holiday some what.
I think I have come to the conclusion that I will stop hunting down a stable connection, and just enjoy this time that I am offline. I had not realised how dependent on the Internet I was, and perhaps this was not healthy, as checking your email constantly, or doing a few Diggs or another Blog Post, is another way to slowly yet surely build up the stress levels of the online lifestyle.
So today, the sun is out and it is a beautiful day in the French Alps. There is even snow on some of the high peaks, in the height of Summer, and you can see them from our French Alps Camping Park. Today and for the next week I will go and unwind from the the stresses I have undergone over the last year since I quit my job, and will go and recharge the batteries. I have found in the past, when you take some time out, then these are the times that you will realise your most creative thoughts, which will be your successes of the future.
I have a lot of work to do when I get home at the end of the month, and to come back relaxed and re-energized is very important. Some creative thoughts is exactly what I require at the moment, as I am working on some very exciting projects that have the potential to bring a lot of good in to a lot of peoples lives. To not be relaxed and creative would be selfish of me, right ?

Great post Clint. Enjoy your time off in the alps.
Enjoy your time in France mate! The internet will be around waiting for you when you get back, but in the mean time, the nice countryside and beautiful Alps should keep you busy! =) Have fun with the rest of your holiday!

Reading through your post made me realise that I spend a lot of time online too… oh, hang on, I already knew that, lol.
Enjoy the French Alps while you can and get ready to party when you get back!
Maybe a blessing in disguise. I used to drag my laptop around the world when I traveled and made sure connections where available. After working 16 hour days for about 5 years straight I realized there is a time and place to get away from technology a bit. Especially out in nature ie. French Alps. That’s a beautiful place.
Hi Clint
Enjoy it mate. You deserve it! Say hello to that beautiful young bride of yours, too! Oops… did I blow your secret identity as an eligible batchelor?
Enjoy the Alps, you two.
Cheers – Sean
Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated. Last day of the holiday today, and I realised that the Internet will be waiting for me when I get back. Funny thing was, once I accepted I was to go without Internet Access, I really (really) enjoyed being away from it, I recommend you try it some day !!
@Sean, I would not want to be a bachelor in France, there is not much to choose from here
Germany on the other hand…..
