What Is The Google Wave
A month or so back, I heard about the Google Wave, and after doing some research, watched a great video that explained all about what it is an how it works. The video went for well over an hour and what I saw completely blew me away, as this new tool from Google will change the way we work online as we know it.
I’m sure that you are familiar with such applications as Gmail, Google Chrome, and Google Docs, well this goes a lot further and combines these apps into one great platform, although with an entire range of functionality, including real time interactivity between people using the wave.
First though, what is a wave? Well Google define it is this:
“A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.
A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.
A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.”

Google have decided to go down the road of making this software Open Source, as to encourage third party development from the development community. No doubt another nail in the coffin for Microsoft.
It is really a bit difficult to explain just what Google Wave can do in just a short post here, so I suggest that you head on over to the Official Google Blog and see what all the fuss is about. If you think that there is no fuss, there certainly will be soon when Google Wave is released to the mainstream web community.

Love the Google Wave, Clint. Or should I call it the Google Tsunami? Time will tell.
Google Wave seems promising a new digital interactivity and created high expectations among surfers. I like some features such as ability to reproduce the talks (playback), Translate in real time when we communicate with someone speaking another language, and it’s integration with Twitter and other social networks. Google Wave really can turn into a revolution in social conversation!
